WHAT ARE YOUR CHAPTER ACHIEVEMENTS AND OUTLOOK:

Santa Clara Valley Chapter 55 has a scholarships program with one-year ASPE membership to students in the Construction Technology program at San Jose City College. The Stan Silvia Scholarships program was established in 1996.

Chapter 55 will have its Annual Golf Tournament this year on October 16, 1998. Based on our past event, the green fees are modest, and the food is great. The Tournament ends with a dinner for golfers, non-golfers and their wives. Everybody is a winner.

Chapter 55 will have on February 6, 1999, a one day Mini-Seminars "Eight Methods to Improve Profitability" with Dr. James J. Adrian.

Chapter 55 will hoist the West Regional Conference in San Jose, California on February 7, 1999. Attending members will be able to attend the Mini-Seminar.

Our goals for next year are as follows:

To increase our membership and increase the awareness of ASPE.
To increase the membership participation in both local chapter, regional and national society activities.
To support the development of ASPE presents on the Internet and use of the Internet.
To get the members to use the Internet for sending e-mail and receiving the latest information from chapters and Society Business Office.

HOW CAN THE SOCIETY BUSINESS OFFICE, YOUR WEST GOVERNOR OR BROARD OF TRUSTEES ASSIST YOUR CHAPTER.

  1. Make available published information in electronic digital form on the web site for membership use.
  2. SBO to publish current information and data for members to access on the Internet.
  3. SBO to forward newsletters, bulletins and other SBO information in electronic digital form to Chapters via e-mail, or some other electronic method. Example: ASPE Critical Calendar updates and alerts on issues. This would be a faster method of getting such information to our members and money savings in the cost of postage.
