Biography

Stan Silva, CPE, CCE is a senior estimator with MBK Construction LTD, Multi-Tenant Division located in Dublin. He is responsible for preparing budget, conceptual, and final bids throughout the United States. These projects include motels, hotels, theaters, retail stores, and multi-family facilities. In addition to these duties, he provides estimating assistance to the other divisions of the company that are located in other parts of the United States.

Before joining MBK he was a vice president and chief estimator for the Carl Holvick Company located in Palo Alto. During the 12 years with this company, he successfully bid warehouses, tenant improvements, office buildings, Hi-Tech facilities, pharmaceutical buildings, missile defense facilities and others.

Stan received a bachelor's degree in Building Construction Engineering from Arizona State University and was honored to receive one of the first scholarships awarded in the construction field from ASU. He also has a lifetime California Teaching credential and has taught several estimating classes. He has also authored three books on construction techniques and has presented many seminars over the past 30 years.

Stan has been a member of ASPE since 1970. He is a founding charter member of both Chapter 11 and Chapter 55 and is the past president of Chapter 55. He has also served as an officer and on the Board of Directors of Chapters 4, 11. He has also served on the board of directors for the Big Brothers organization in Fresno and Sacramento. He is a member of the ELKS Lodge in Gilroy.

He has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry and has estimated over 1 Billion dollars in work.
